Having successfully exhibited oil paintings inspired by Dorset coastline I decided to expand the seascape theme to watercolour and digital mediums. The oil painting series deals with seascape that is based on memory and imagination and result was semi–abstract or abstract art with focus on changes in light and colour during day and night. Seascapes created in watercolour and digital technique focus on exploration of light and its effect on sea and sky in more defined, representational form. The aim was to capture the experience of sea – from representational to abstract art with emphasis on atmosphere, colour and light.

*Private View by invitation or ticket.

It’s not every day of the week that you receive a call from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), certainly not as an artist. It’s even more surprising when it’s the LSE Department of Law enquiring about a murder.

This however turned out to be a pleasant surprise when the LSE asked if they could use my painting ‘Murder’ as the poster for a year-long series of lectures featuring an international selection of Doctors and Professors of Law. I was both flattered that they had sought out my work, and honoured to be associated with such a prestigious organisation and series of events. Please see poster below.

Not being one to ignore a co-incidence, I noticed that the lecture series begins on the 16th October, the same day the Brick Lane The Other Art Fair opens. Looking into Brick Lane’s darker past led me to another co-incidence: 16th October 1888 was the date Jack the Ripper’s infamous ‘From Hell’ letter was received. Tying these three dates together seems to the perfect opportunity to display ‘Murder’ and her sister paintings from the series ‘Anatomy of Murder’ together for the first time in such a historic and notorious location.
